  5. That's right, guilt-ridden users! You can quit recycling cans because
  6. this puppy is now *FREEWARE*! 
  7.  
  8. But, as in life, freedom has it's price. I've shelved all plans for
  9. adding new features to the Automated Epguides (quit whining, I may get
  10. re-motivated sometime in the future and start spackling new stuff to
  11. the program). 
  12.  
  13. But don't fret -- if a show is still in production, I will continue to 
  14. release newer versions that contain up to date episode information. If
  15. a show is no longer being produced, I will continue to convert those
  16. programs over to the most recent generation of the Automated EpGuide
  17. "engine" so users will be able to enjoy all the frills and adventures.

  19. And if you just HAVE to reward me for the two plus years of blood, sweat
  20. and tears I poured into the development of these programs, send me a pack

  27. Added a SAYING: field to the episode dialog. This lists the
  28. catch-phrase that's shown during the intro, such as "The Truth Is
  29. Out There".

  31. The episode data is current through the end of Season 4 (USA).

  33. Changed the default program icon from a generic "PM A.E.G." icon to
  34. one that is customized for the particular A.E.G. program. This allows
  35. people who have more than one OS/2 P.M. A.E.G. on their system to tell
  36. the programs apart by their icons.

  38. Removed all of the episode data from the program executable. It is now
  39. stored in external data files. Users of the Automated EpGuides probably
  40. won't be able to even tell the difference. Your hard drive light will
  41. flicker once when you choose an episode to view (the program is reading
  42. the episode data and placing it into the EpData dialog). What this change
  43. means in the long-run: a smaller, more-efficient .EXE file; this also
  44. makes my job a whole lot easier, therefore I'll be able to code updates
  45. in a fraction of the time.

  51. Redesigned the Character info dialogs. Also, added some icons to them.

  53. Added four new buttons to the Toolbar! The NEXT EPISODE, PREVIOUS EPISODE, 
  54. NEXT SEASON and PREVIOUS SEASON Toolbar buttons greatly improve maneuvering 
  55. through the huge amount of episode data! (I did these for me, the lazy 
  56. programmer, and passed the helpful feature on to you, the end user!)

  62. Updated the Season 3 episode information.

  64. Added a REXX .CMD installation script. After unzipping the A.E.G. .ZIP
  65. file into a permanent directory, run AEG_INST.CMD to automatically create
  66. a desktop object for the PM A.E.G. program.

  68. Totally redesigned the episode information dialogs to make them a lot 
  69. easier to read.

  71. Added an Online Help system. After the A.E.G. window appears on the desktop,
  72. you can hit the F1 key to bring up the Online Help file.

  74. Added an Offline Help file to the archive. This file is in .INF format
  75. and can be read from the OS/2 command line using the view.exe command; 
  76. or clicked on from a drives object. It is the same help file as the .HLP 
  77. file, but it can be viewed offline, or stored with other .INF files if 
  78. you maintain a Help Book Library on your system.

  80. Added a Context Sensitive Popup Menu. After the A.E.G. window appears on
  81. the desktop, you can click your right mouse button anywhere within the
  82. A.E.G. PM window and a menu of commands will popup. These are basically
  83. the same set of commands that appear on the menu bar.

  85. Added a Tool/Button Bar to the PM window. The new row of buttons directly
  86. under the menu bar perform some of the same actions as items appearing on
  87. the HELP and EXIT menus.

  89. Added a Floating Help Window system. If the mouse pointer hesitates over
  90. any of the buttons on the Tool Bar, a small, descriptive label will pop
  91. up telling you what action that button performs.
